Sioe Frenhinol Cymru | The Royal Welsh Show 2014: Day 1 On Twitter

July 22, 2014 — by

The Royal Welsh Show kicked off yesterday as thousands of people and animals from across Wales flocked to Builth Wells to attend Europe’s biggest agricultural show. The Royal Welsh Show plays host to wide range of competitions and attractions, including the judging of various domestic animals, sheep sheering and horse riding competitions, arts and crafts and live music.

The  Show is celebrating it’s 110th anniversary this week, but don’t be fool in thinking this is an old fashioned event. Show organisers, The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society in conjunction with S4C and Moilin Cyf,  have produced a new upgraded version of ‘The Royal Welsh Show App’, which was first introduced last year. Visitors can use the app to navigate their way around the showground and keep up with the many attractions on offer.

For the first time ever show organisers are also offering visitors access to six free Wifi hotspots dotted around the showground, which provide superfast internet speeds following the installation of high-speed fibre broadband. Free WiFi will give visitors the opportunity to utilise the app and interact with the show through social media on their mobile devices.

In fact over 7260 (English language) tweets have already been posted about the Royal Welsh Show on the social network Twitter since Friday 18th July, as people discussed their growing excitement about the show over the weekend and the first day yesterday.
