Blurrt are looking for an ambitious and creative thinker, with a background in client facing web application development who can help contribute in building and moving an exciting digital tech company forward.
This includes working with our existing Natural Language Processing (NLP) based product that analyses and understands the way people react within social media posts.
Over the past 4 years we have established ourselves as a leading social media intelligence platform primarily creating content for broadcasters. Blurrt are now looking to move into the brand, marketing and advertising space; using data to understand what it is about a brand or campaign that resonates with an audience, as well as identify who those individuals are and how they feel.
We’re not just looking for an anonymous developer to join our existing dev team but someone who wants to jump head first into taking ownership over a new product offering, provide some leadership to less experienced members of the team and help us continue to innovate.
The candidate must have experience in the following:
Strong Java experience
PHP, Javascript or NodeJS
MySQL
ElasticSearch
Client facing web application development
Linux services configuration and deployment e.g. apache2
Developing and consuming RESTful APIs
Version control systems – we use GIT
The following skills / knowledge would be beneficial:
Experience or a genuine interest in Natural Language Processing
AWS – we use EBS, EC2, RDS, SQS
Machine learning or AI
Continuous integration tools – we use Travis CI
Automated testing tools – JUnit, PHPSpec, Behat
A knowledge of social media – platforms and use
Experience mentoring junior developers
The position is based in the centre of Cardiff where we have our own office space within Tramshed Tech.
