Xhaka Shaken by Gini

Arsenal were embarrassed at Anfield on Sunday as they went down 4-0 to Liverpool, but one of the moments you may have missed was certainly picked up by Liverpool fans on social media! This clip shows a hapless Xhaka being taken back to school by “Gini” Wijnaldum.

Not a great day for the Swiss enforcer…

Phil finally comes good

Phil Jones has been at Manchester United since 2011, making 125 performances for the club since he joined from Blackburn Rovers as a youngster. United fans are growing in positivity about the English centre-back, a player who has failed to really fulfil the potential seen by Sir Alex Ferguson when he signed him. Mourinho seems to be getting the best out of Jones, playing him alongside Eric Bailly at the heart of the United defence and enjoying 3 clean sheets from 3 games as a result.

Awesome Abraham

Whether he’s a Robin, a Blue or a Swan, Tammy Abraham doesn’t care: he’ll still score goals! After bagging a ton on loan at Bristol City last season, Abraham has picked up right where he left off in the West Country after his loan move to (technically) another country! Life in Wales is suiting Abraham, with his first goal in the Premier League arriving against Crystal Palace on Saturday. Swansea fans shared 91% positivity about Tammy and of the emotion bearing posts about him, 33% expressed love, 32% happiness and 22% thankfulness, showing that Swansea fans have really taken their loan striker to heart!

Hot to Not

Ahmed Hegazi made the perfect start to life in the Premier League, scoring on his debut and playing a major part in two clean sheets in two games for his West Brom team. A mistake on Saturday against Stoke cost his side the game, however, taking him from hero to zero in one moment. A mix up in communication with goalkeeper Ben Foster cost the Baggies 3 points, but West Brom fans took the long-term view:

Mendy and the Met

Benjamin Mendy made his Man City debut at Bournemouth on Saturday lunchtime but hit the social media headlines for making light of the situation at the end of the game as fans, stewards, players and the police tangled after Raheem Sterling’s last minute winner. Mendy was fined earlier in the week for parking illegally and sent the Met Police a jokey tweet:

His sense of humour has endeared him to City fans since his arrival from Monaco and the left-back has certainly taken to UK life with a reference to his “cheeky Nandos”!
