Fantasy Football Final Results

They think it’s all over… well it is now!

As Cristiano Ronaldo lifted the Henri Delaunay trophy high above his head, drawing a close to this summer’s fantastic Euro 2016 tournament, in doing so he also signalled the end of Blurrt’s own euro fantasy football league.

The final league table.

Congratulations to James Hill and his team ‘NikitaiMissYou’, the overall winner and only individual not to work for Blurrt or be related to Blurrt staff.

Some have called for an inquest into this individual’s eligibility to play, whilst others have suggested that he’s a full-time fantasy footballer and therefore ruins the spirit of the competition – either way, the result stands and the title of ‘Blurrt’s Fantasy Football Winner’ is now his.
A prize of a lifetime and a prize money really can’t buy.

Second place goes to Joe’s, ‘Ivory Toast’, who with a 39 point cushion ahead of third place can be pleased knowing that his side finished top of the pile amongst his work peers.
Joe commented,

“What a fantastic tournament. First place would have been mine had I had any faith in any of the Wales players. Lesson learned for next time.”

Third place wasn’t quite good enough for ‘Kroos But No Cigar’, as manager Conor O’Driscoll used this blog opportunity to make a shocking announcement.

“The team showed a lot of character, but we simply weren’t the best team on the day. As a result, I’d like to take this moment to announce my resignation from the position of fantasy football manager.”

Ironically in coming third, you could say he came close, but no cigar.

Owain’s faith in Wales and his selected Welsh players meant he was always hovering around the top 3, but ultimately #WExit was to blame as he couldn’t bring himself to drop his players, even after they were eliminated, resulting in Jack Army finishing fourth and just one point ahead of title contenders Chase FC, and 2 points ahead of the much hyped STINKY DONKEYS.

Well and truly bottom of the table sits ‘Thunderchild FC’, who foolishly backed 4 England players to perform at a major tournament. What were they thinking?!

We were lucky enough to catch up with ‘Tropical Fishes’ manager Greg Nichols, to provide the final word on the success of the tournament and his own team’s performance.

“It all went really well. I didn’t know who any of the players were except Ronaldo at the start and I ended up coming 9th!
Shout out to Juanfran.”
