Digital 2014 – Day 2 reaction on Twitter

June 11, 2014 — by

Day 2 was all about bringing together global technology brands, industry professionals and knowledge experts to engage, educate and energise individuals, businesses and public sector organisations. The day started with lots of people tweeting about Sir Terry Matthews’ inspiring speech, advocating female CEO’s and how they are amongst the best in the ICT industry, how the rise of the anytime, anywhere worker is driving innovation and “client pull not push, is key”.

The day consisted of 4 sessions in the main conference theatre with over 20 speakers, a packed schedule of satellite sessions in the other conference rooms and the official launch of the Digital Tuesday Club.

Blurrt collected the tweets over a 24 hour period starting 00:00hrs on Tuesday 10th June. The sentiment expressed in each tweet was consistently high all day and the average was +2.27 (on a scale of +5 being very positive to -5 being very negative). The total number of tweets including RT’s was 2.07k with 47% positive, 9% negative and 45% neutral.

To Summarize:

Digital 2014 was a hugely successful event as demonstrated by the huge number of tweets generated, 4.44k over the course of two days and the average sentiment over this time was +2.35. The graph below shows that the sentiment was fractionally higher overall for Day 1 as the average sentiment expressed was +2.42 and the volume of 2.37k tweets was higher. The differences are marginal with a Blurrt Score of 39 awarded to each day. The Blurrt Score is a unique measurement which considers both the volume of tweets an event receives and the positive or negative sentiment in those tweets (another clever algoritm!)
